Logos

While I'm at it, may as well post some of the logos I've worked on over the last few months. Some more successful than others, but still, another string to the bow! Dunno why the HAPM one is coming up shades of orange. It's meant to be blue! I'll fix at a later date.

Lara and Shane

A friend of mine is making a book for her boyfriend for Christmas. She asked for a cartoon of herself and himself wearing crowns, backpacks and magnets on their feet...? I don't ask, I just obey the brief. And here it is!

Animation Showreel Lite

Here's the lite version of my showreel. Pared-down, cleaned up and streamlined. Because the other one was a little heavy...

Solar System

An expansion on the original Earth idea. Obviously it's not the complete Solar System. Only Neptune, Jupiter, Mars and Earth. But you get the general idea. Used CC Sphere, fractal noise, Trapcode Particular, CC Particle and other bits and bobs. Doesn't look great here, but in High def.... slightly better....

Earth Rotation

Something I whipped up in After Effects the other night. It uses CC Sphere, fractal noise and some other little tweaks and effects. Quite a spiffy result considering I just used a regular old map of the earth! Good old Video Copilot and it's array of wonderful tuts!

After Effects test

Been messing about with my favorite new program of all time, Adobe After Effects. Just arse-boxing around with Particle World, and following tutorials from the wonderful site, Video Copilot. Took a photo of a courtyard at the back of the Boulder Media building and applied some effects to it. God, how I love After Effects.

I'm on the nets!

My website's finally up and running. It's not much, just a portfolio, really. But it's a beginning, and shall be redesigned, reimagined and reposted in the future. For now though...

The Bear And The Boy

Completed in 2003, this is an animated short I created as part of my final year in college. The backgrounds are kinda weak and the animation is... dodgy, but it's a complete film! It'd be a whole lot different if I'd known then what I know now!

Showreel Titles

The end titles for my showreel. Created them using Adobe After Effects, a wonderful program I've been getting my head around recently. It really is a great program! For tutorials, check out Video Copilot.

Christmas Ad

Let me explain... every year, my clan gathers for a battle royale between the five families. This year, part of the competition was to produce an ad for mince meat using any medium we like. This, is my effort.

Boulder Blog entry #4- The Thinker

This is my uncolored entry for the latest Boulder Blog theme- Scangers. Scangers, for those of you who don't know what they are, are a subculture of charming young folk in Dublin. They can be recognised by their thin, whispy facial hair, blood-shot, half closed eyes and pale complexion. They are typically adorned in tribal colors of Celtic jerseys and baseball caps perched at a 45 degree angle, covering approx. half of their beached hair. Known for their valuable contribution to society, small groups of scangers can be seen wandering the streets with cans of Dutch Gold in their hands, pointing out the quirks and foibles of any passer by. When travelling in larger packs, scangers are known to have a sudden surge of patriotic pride, a pride that paradoxically results in the destruction of the country the 'love' so well.

Samuel L. Wright

This be my god sonny, Sam. Born on the 9th August this year, he came into the world an 11lb 11oz little monster! This be a little sketch I did of him the other day. Head's a little long compared to how it actually is, but for better or worse, this is him!
